DAVID SELTZER, ESQ., was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. David attended Goucher College, in Towson, Maryland, where he received his Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Business, and a minor in pre-law, in 2001. After graduating early, David worked as a paralegal in New York City prior to law school on a major products liability litigation suit.
David then attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School, in Lansing, Michigan. After two semesters of attaining a ranking in the top-10%, David transferred to the University of Miami School of Law, where in 2004 he received his Juris Doctorate degree.
While in law school in Miami, David interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, which later turned into full-time employment upon graduation.
While at the State Attorney's Office, David handled cases ranging from DUI's, Misdemeanor Crimes, Juvenile Cases, Felony Cases—including but not limited to: Child Abuse, Felony Battery/Assault, Robbery, Drug Trafficking, Lewd and Lascivious Molestation of a Child, Weapons Cases and Sexual Battery. All those cases where handled prior to his tenure as a Cyber Crimes Prosecutor.
While assigned to cyber crimes, David was responsible for proactive investigations into computer forensics, an emerging area of the law. The exposure and the training into how computers operate and retain data, has given him insight in how computer cases are not only prosecuted, but how they can be defended against. While in the Cyber Crime Unit, David handled case ranging from: Child Solicitation, Possession of Child Pornography, Unauthorized Access of Computer Networks, Unauthorized Access of Wireless Networks, Insurance Fraud and Transmission of Material Harmful to Minors. Additionally, David was an integral part of numerous investigations, whereby he would aid in the drafting of search warrants and gained insight into various legal intricacies.
David's experience has offered him a wealth of insight, training, and exposure to Internet crimes and how the legal system is being formed to deal with computers. Having experienced the prosecution side, David has been exposed to numerous trainings and experts in order to aid in deciphering the complexities of technology as it relates to the law. As cyber law develops, it is taking on shape and form as our profession begins to interpret the details in technology, which operate as a vehicle to carry out crimes both in civil and criminal courts.
In Court, David has shown to be creative, intuitive and aggressive in his winning ways. Having tried numerous cases and countless motions, David has proven he can win inside the court room. Outside the halls of justice David's pursuits continue as he has demonstrated his successful negotiating skills in resolving numerous legal matters. David has become an experienced litigator both in and out of the Court room, and looks forward to defending your rights.
