Carry Concealed Weapon

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, shall not be infringed. However, that “right” is not absolute. Florida has placed restrictions on carrying a weapon. To carry a weapon on or near your person you must obtain a permit. It is not a defense that you are in the process of obtaining a permit.

The charges for carrying a concealed weapon can range from a 1st degree misdemeanor to a 3rd degree felony. Under the statute, it is ok to carry pepper spray or mace for self-defense.
